Budgeting a Catered Event

If you are going to host a catered event soon, one of your greatest dilemmas would probably be the budget. As such, here are some tips on how you should allocate your finances in order to have a great catered party without getting broke.

First, you really need to plan for the event as properly as you can. Be certain about the number of your guests, the theme of the event you are having, the number and kinds of foods and beverages you like to serve, the need for tables, chairs, and decorations, etc. Know that the more precise you are with these things, the better you can apportion your budget.

Aside from that, you should also think about when you would like the party to happen. If you are really on a strict budget, it is best to schedule the event in the middle of the afternoon (e.g.: 2pm to 4pm). This way, you can get away with serving only light refreshments as people would not expect to eat a full meal at that time. Another thing to think about when budgeting for a catered event is the eating utensils to use. If you have the money, then go for elegant tableware. If you need to cut down costs though, consider using quality plastic ware.

Finally, just take note that a good catered party need not be a really elegant one. As long as your guests are served properly and there is enough food, drinks, and entertainment - your party will be a success. The point then is that you can definitely host a catered party at a price you can afford!
